Welcome! You've entered my Book Burrow -- a place for busy parents who need simple literacy strategies. Maybe you're trying to provide enrichment opportunities for your child outside of school, or they're really struggling with reading. Or maybe you're homeschooling... and it's hard. There's A LOT of advice everywhere, but how do you know what's best?
Rewind... Several years ago, I left the classroom to stay at home with my baby, but I really missed teaching. Then a mama friend invited me into her world of homeschooling five children. She was doing many things well, but felt overwhelmed. What reading curriculum do I use? How do I even get my kindergartener to start reading? How do I keep my kids focused? How do I measure success? Am I failing? I don't even know!
As we worked together, I realized that many strategies I'd learned from teaching were just as useful to her -- and could help other parents, too. She just needed simple mindsets & methods that actually work. Like my dear friend, I believe every parent can help their child become a life-long reader.
